until May 1989 that the idea first came
to life. Walt Disney Company unveiled the
Disney-MGM Studios. The new concept was
an instant hit with guests getting that

workings of living, breathing movie and
television production facilities all in

Think of it as a crash course in film production
minus the pomposity. Through its exciting

In the last decade or so, the Studios have
nearly doubled in size and have continued
to grow. Part of the largest property-wide
expansion in Walt Disney World history is
the creation of the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
Starring Aerosmith. The indoor roller coaster

You think you've
seen it all at Disney but the Disney's
Animal Kingdom is a spectacular theme
park unlike anything you have ever
experienced. Check it out!
The blueprint for the park came to
life in January 1990 when Imagineering
Concept Designer Joe Rohde met with
Michael Eisner about a proposal for
a new animal park. The original concept
was simple: a traditional theme park,
an Epcot style pavilion, and a nontraditional
zoo. The Disney's Wild Animal Kingdom
Project was officially unveiled on
June 5, 1995 and ground was broken
in August 1995. With a few changes
here and there, including the name,
over the next couple years the project
was finally completed as Disney's
Animal Kingdom on April 22, 1998.
The best time to go to Disney's Animal
Kingdom is 15 minutes before the schedule
opening time. Go around the turnstiles
right into the Tree of Life area.
A little while thereafter, the more
popular characters in Disney-Minnie,
Pluto, and Goofy, arrive to welcome
you to the park! Then Mickey comes
about and gets on the truck beckoning
you to take his lead into Harambe
as the adventure begins in the Animal
Kingdom! It also has an afternoon
parade, Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade.
